Producer, director, director of photography. Among his more important productions is the series of documentaries entitled “Saperi e Sapori” or “Knowledge and Flavours” dedicated to optimum quality food products and produced for Rai Sat Gambero Rosso Channel; “Architetti del Novecento”, or “Architects of the 20th Century”, dedicated to the greatest architects of the second generation, produced for Rai 2; the opera “Ascanio in Alba” performed at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna; and the Recital of Fiorenza Cedolins d edicated to Puccini performed at the Teatro del Giglio di Lucca and produced by Bongiovanni Edizioni.
Bencini has worked as director, photography director and editor for corporate films and advertising for Campari Italia, Acqua Santa Croce, Gruppo INI, Sistemi Zucchetti.
In 2006 he was awarded for the photography of the work “la Cattiva Amante”, in the independent section of the Italian Videoclip Festival; this same work was also mentioned in the book “Musica per I nostril occhi” by Domenico Liggeri, Bompiani Ed.
Bencini has worked with important directors such as Stefano Pratesi and Massimo Luconi.
His first professional training was in the field of videoart; after having received his Television Cameraman’s Diploma of Professional Training from the Accademia Europea in Florence, he began his professional activity with a series of documentaries on the territorial peculiarities of the Tuscan landscape (le Balze, La valle dell’Inferno, La Via Francigena) commissioned by the Province of Arezzo and the Tuscan Region for promotional purposes. The years immediately following saw him in the position of photography director for national networks such as Rai and Mediaset. Beginning in 1996, his work broadened to the field of television production, through the creation and realization of TV Formats such as “Offshore” a sports program on the world of Classe 3 off shore and “Safety zone” a magazine of underground culture, broadcast by the national circuit Odeon TV. Throughout his professional activity he has continued to specialize in application techniques for the tangible realization of audiovisuals. He currently collaborates with the Slow Food Foundation, and is responsible for media communications of the Tuscan chapter. His relationship with Slow Food - which over time has grown from a professional involvement to a full adherence to its manifesto - has inspired his latest productions, which are closely tied to environmental and nutritional themes, such as the ethics of the systems of food production.
