This film tells the story of the daily and steadfast commitment of a group of women in the Lunigiana region of Italy who took up the work of their grandfathers.
These women of Zeri are raising a particular breed of sheep that, up until a few years ago, faced extinction.
As a result of this effort, the community has developed a small scale economy that manages both to maintain the biodiversity and dignity of the rural world, and, at the same time, to preserve the area’s inestimable heritage of artisan skills and local traditions.
