I feel it is important to focus on those types of work and lifestyles that have found a harmonious relationship with the earth, air and water; ways of life that are light years ahead of the Western world that has yet to realize that the real treasure to be discovered is that of protecting our planet. Agriculture cannot exist outside nature; therefore, if the latter does not thrive, neither does the former. Moreover, we also know that nature includes us.
It is not a place where one arrives, having ventured from some safe observation point outside.
We are immersed in it, and are part of it as we employ it. If nature doesn’t flourish we don’t flourish.   Therefore, the right measures for agriculture and the world’s health are the right measures for us.
Inevitably, these measure constitute a single set of parameters, the premise of which is a reconciliation between us and our world, between economy and ecology, and between the tamed and the wild.
Today more than ever, in the midst of a full-blown economic crisis, man should have the courage, the intelligence and the desire to start again from square one, in an attempt to offer future generations a world less amiss than the one we are presently living in.And in the event that this story might more modestly be interpreted as a voyage towards what is good, clean and just, for all of those hoping for an improvement, we, who believe, will have already favorably achieved our goal.
